Why a wool duvet inner?
Warmer & More Comfortable – Light-weight and naturally moisture absorbent, with inherent thermal qualities this duvet inner will help to regulate your body temperature naturally so you sleep better every night. Wool never feels clammy like synthetic or feather products and, being a purely natural fibre it’s also naturally flame-resistant.
Naturally hypoallergenic – this duvet is made with materials which are naturally resistant to dust mites, mould and mildew so will protect your loved ones naturally without the need for any toxic chemicals being added to the product.
Are wool duvets better than synthetic duvets?
Wool has numerous unique properties which make it the ideal natural fibre for peaceful sleep.
It’s breathable so it regulates body temperature and provides thermal insulation when needed. Wool provides the healthiest, driest, healthiest and most comfortable sleep. Synthetic duvet inners made from polyester or nylon, whilst cheaper, will have lower ‘breathability’, be less fire retardant and are less able to regulate your body temperature.
Is a wool duvet inner itchy?
‘Prickly wool’ fibres are greater than 35 microns in diameter (such as the wool found in furnishings, carpets or cheaper imported clothing). The soft wool fibre in this duvet inner (finer than 35 microns) will not push through the finely woven cotton envelope and you will not be itchy, even if you have a sensitive skin.
Wool is better than feather or down duvet inners
As you change position during the night, feather and down fillers move around inside the duvet envelope. This causes variation in temperature – hot spots and cold spots – throughout the night as you sleep, which may be disruptive.
Unlike Feather and Down fibres, wool naturally regulates body temperature by drawing excess moisture away from your body, so you remain at a comfortable and even temperature throughout the night. Wool is a naturally non-allergenic which makes our duvet inners a perfect choice for people with asthma or allergies. It is also naturally fire retardant so ensures the safest sleep.
